About this event
Briefly about the legendary Szczecin blues-rock band, Free Blues Band:
This blues band has been playing expressive music for over 45 years, combining elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, rock, and jazz.
Founded by brothers Andrzej and Marian Malcherek in late 1979 in Szczecin, they have won awards at virtually every rock and blues music festival held in Poland since 1983.
In addition to their original blues program, their repertoire also includes brilliant performances of blues and rock classics.
The band uses the original Hammond organ, played by Agnieszka Malcherek, the only woman in Poland.
The band had been touring with Tadeusz Nalepa since 1995, and for the last three years before Nalepas death, the artist toured with the Free Blues Band. It was with the Free Blues Band that he played his last concert on August 12, 2006, in Trinec, Czech Republic.
They also played with Taj Mahal, Chris Farlowe (Colosseum), Steve Morse and Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Stan Skiby, Carlos Johnson, and many Polish artists.
They opened for Deep Purple, John Scofield, John Mayal, The Animals, Scott Henderson, and Johnny Winter and TM Stevens.
