Slap Jazz is Wojtek Pilichowskis latest original project – a jazz-funk endeavor that presents his work in a fresh and energetic way.
The artist draws on his own compositions, giving them modern, dynamic arrangements, with Pilichowskis signature slap bass taking center stage.
The project combines jazz improvisation with funk, groove, and live energy. The music is communicative, virtuosic, and yet very accessible to audiences – perfect for both club and festival stages.
2026 brings the release of the album "Slap Jazz," the first in a multi-part release (three albums in total, including a live concert album).
The years 2026–2027 will see an intensive tour promoting the project, and 2026 itself will mark the artists 35th anniversary of artistic work.
Wojtek Pilichowski is one of the most respected and recognizable Polish bassists, composer, and bandleader, with a long-standing presence on the international jazz, funk, and fusion scene.
He has released over 20 solo albums and has participated in over 300 albums worldwide, with a combined sales exceeding 7 million copies. He has performed on the worlds most important stages and festivals – from New York to Tokyo to S?o Paulo.
He is a sixteen-time winner of the title of Best Polish Bassist, a winner of the 2013 Guitar Awards, the artistic director of prestigious music workshops, the author of textbooks, and a lecturer leading courses and masterclasses worldwide.
In 2025, he was honored by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage with the "Gloria Artis" medal for Merit to Culture, the highest distinction awarded to artists for their outstanding contribution to the development of Polish culture.
